The War of the Holy Grail is the competition that decides the ownership of the Grail. You may think of it as an auction for a cup that one thinks is the Holy Grail.

The war of the Fuyuki city is unique, as it is the only one that has a Servant system that uses Heroic Spirits as familiars. It is to be noted that the war of the Fuyuki city is apparently not the only “war of the Holy Grail”, as there seems to be several artifacts labelled as the Holy Grail and different competitions for their ownership.
